It’s time to Rumble, it’s time for the ROYAL RUMBLE

It’s one can’t miss event of the year for both wrestling fans and used to be wrestling fans. It’s the Royal Rumble, where 30 men try to throw each other over the top rope for a main event slot at WrestleMania. The Rumble has been running since 1988, when “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan became the inaugural winner. Since then, the event has been come a staple for the WWE. Even though they don’t do it as much now, I get most nostalgic about the Royal Rumble when thinking about the classic intros where they show all 30 competitors. Remember the SNES version… The Rumble has had many great moments, from Ric Flair 1992 win, Rey Mysterio winning for the late great Eddie Guerrero, to Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior squaring off for the first time. Every year, the WWE puts out a great video package called “by the numbers” that always gets me hyped. The Royal Rumble is on Sunday, January 25th.

Alright, Alright, Alright: Matthew McConaughey’s Dazed and Confused Audition

Is this an eery foreshadow to all those Lincoln commercials? Ironically McConaughey does not say his now iconic line “alright, alright, alright” in this audition but other than that this is basically his whole performance from the film Dazed and Confused. This audition had me thinking two things: 1. Matthew McConaughey was born to play this role. 2. He was barely in the film and still is the most remembered part of it. For those of you who still haven’t seen Dazed and Confused, I highly recommend it. It’s a coming of age story that takes place over one day back in the 70s when the drinking age was 18 and apparently child child abuse and statutory rape were not only accepted but encouraged in some cases…

Cause why not?: What Scooby Doo Characters would look like now

This piece was originally created by buzzfeed and is pretty cool. Obviously cartoons don’t age (except the bad ones which seem so dated. Nailed it.) But what if cartoons could age? More specifically, what if the Scooby Doo cartoon could age? Well, I think it might look a little like this…and by think I mean, this is what they would look like. Pictured above is Shaggy (as if you didn’t know that) but scroll down to see what the rest of the gang looks like. Daphne   Fred   Velma   Scrappy Doo   Scooby Doo   But seriously after 45 years I’m pretty sure Scrappy and at least Fred would be dead as well…but that wouldn’t make a very fun cartoon.

1998: An Ultimate Supercut from a Pretty Awesome Year

It’s hard to believe that it’s 2015. It’s even harder to believe that the 90’s were not last decade, but rather 20 years ago. In 1998 I was the tender age of 11. I was highly influenced, liked girls but didn’t admit it yet, and wanted nothing more than to be treated like a big kid (even though I still played with my action figures). The late 90’s were a time of attitude, n64 and the Spice Girls Here is the most ultimate super-cut of everything from 1998 that will make you miss the 90s.
