I call shotgun: Guy gives Ford Exlorer a Jurassic Park Makeover

This guy turned his 1993 Ford Explorer into a super awesome re-make of the Ford Explorer featured in Jurassic Park. Big deal, one time I made this sweet paint by numbers painting of a elephant. Well…I almost did. I started the painting then get caught up in a Boy Meets World marathon. Man, that Eric sure did love girls. Here are more pictures of this pretty sweet ride. Enjoy.

Shrinky Dinks: Did they have a purpose?

I didn’t understand Shrinky Dinks that much, but I did enjoy the name. The idea was that they were these large sheets that you could draw/color on, then you heat them in the over (or get your parents to do so) and voila, you had a small hard plate known as a Shrinky Dink. It seems cool when you first hear of it, but then the novelty wears off. It’s like buying those dinosaur sponges that after soaking them in water for 10 minutes would grown to be twice as big…. I can see the value of Shrinky Dinks for costume jewelery, but as a kid what would you do with your Shrinky Dinks after? Keep it around for a day, then probably lose it.

Lost and Found: Landfill of E.T. Atari games

The story goes in 1983 Atari dumped millions of unsold E.T. game catridges in a New Mexico landfill after deeming them “unsellable”. Apparently the game sucked that bad. And finally after 30 years, the over 700,000 game cartridges have been discovered. And the best part of it all, Microsoft was there with cameras making a documentary of the full process.   The game was designed by Howard Scott Warshaw. The objective of the game is to guide the eponymous character through various screens to collect three pieces of an interplanetary telephone that will allow him to contact his home planet.   “The result is often cited as one of the worst video games released and was one of the biggest commercial failures in video gaming history. The game’s commercial failure and resulting effects on Atari are frequently cited as a contributing factor to the video game industry crash of 1983.” – Wikipedia

Would you rather have The Nanny or Mr. Nanny?

You either loved Fran Drescher or absolutely hated her. She had a certain sex appeal about her that would attract men and a whiny high pitched voice that would repeal them at the same time. She was funny though. Funny enough to get 6 seasons and a movie! (Abed would be proud) She got six season as the star of the somewhat popular CBS sitcom The Nanny, and at the height of it’s popularity starred in a feature film where she played a similar (but not the same) character in The Beautician and the Beast. I never really watched the Nanny when it was on in the mid 1990s. I might have been too young to enjoy it at the time, or perhaps I didn’t relate to it’s humor which skewed towards females. The show took a little bit to pick up momentum and was nearly cancelled early on due to poor ratings. Apparently Jeff Sagansky (CBS president at the time) had to constantly say during affiliate meetings “Stick by The Nanny!” He knew it …

Why Would We Post This?: Spoiler Alert! Supercut

Screen Junkies make some pretty good videos over on that YouTube thing, you should check em out! This video is an interesting one, it is a Spoiler Supercut of some of cinema’s greatest twist endings. Why make a supercut like this? Good question. Maybe it is because they are the Screen Junkies and have actually seen all of these movies and assume anyone else who has may appreciate the video. OR maybe they want to see how dumb people on the internet are and despite numerous warnings of spoilers will still watch this video and complain. In my opinion, unless you have seen most of these movies, you wouldn’t really understand most of these spoilers out of context but in case I’m wrong, maybe don’t watch this video if you haven’t seen (or don’t want to spoil) these movies: Citizen Kane, Fight Club, Primal Fear, Signs, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Chinatown, The Empire Strikes Back, Psycho (1960), Carrie (1976), Scream, The Sixth Sense, The Departed, The Shawshank Redemption, The Crying Game, Invasion of …
