FRIENDS Lighting Round

In what is my favourite (and should be yours) FRIENDS moment, I give you: THE LIGHTING ROUND! Buzzfeed in it’s infinite awesomeness has put up the lighting round quiz that you yourself can attempt! I am ashamed to say that I did get one wrong but hey no one is perfect…well my buddy Bill is but you don’t know him, mostly because he is imaginary, not unlike Joey’s imaginary friend Maurice. See what I did there? Only you die hard FRIENDS fans would catch that. Anywho, you can take the lightning round quiz here. And if you want to relive this great scene (or cheat on the quiz as many of you will) here it is for your enjoyment:

Night Trap the video game

It was the survival horror video game that gave you boners and massive headaches at the same time, of course I can only be talking about Night Trap! Night Trap was first released on Sega CD in 1992, although it was originally titled “Scene of the Crime” in an unreleased game in the late 80’s. The game later came out on PC and on the 3DO. So here’s the game….you are viewing hidden cameras inside the house of Mr. and Mrs. Martin’s, where a group of young women are staying for the night. However, odd things begin happening. Your job is to protect the guests during their slumber party as vampiric intruders enter and try to claim their pray. You view real-time video of each room in the house, which are loaded with traps. When you see someone entering, you hit a button and trap them. Not much with regards to gameplay, but it was entertaining to watch. Night Trap sold well, despite it being ranked as one of the Worst Video Games of All-Time …

Sesame Street Fighter

Okay this is pretty awesome. It’s a double hit of Nostalgia, mixing my love of Sesame Street with my love of fast-paced fighting games like Street Fighter. This HTML5 game you can play in a browser window right HERE attempts to teach you how to spell while kicking the crap out of your opponent. Whichever character you choose determines the difficulty setting, and you have to quickly type the words that show up on screen to attack your opponent and win. I wish they had this in Public School computer class rather than Cross Country Canada….”PUT ON BELT”.

Memorable Hockey Players In Not-so Memorable Jerseys pt. 3: Early 2000s

Early 2000s/Pre-Lockout Era In between the end of the ’90s and the 2004-2005 NHL Lockout, there was a period where teams spent money like it was going out of style. Multi-year big time free agent contracts led to a number of superstars changing teams, then being traded to other teams because they were making too much money, which ultimately led to the cancellation of an entire season in order for the NHL to “restore the competitive balance, create responsible spending, and instil financial accountability.” HAHAHAHA! Sergei Fedorov In My Mind: Detroit Red Wings Remember When? Columbus Blue Jackets After signing a mega million dollar contract to leave the Red Wings for the Mighty Ducks, Fedorov’s on ice performance started to decline. However, he was doing just fine off the ice while sharing Anna Kournikova with fellow countryman Pavel Bure. Oh ya, then he played for Columbus. Tony Amonte In My Mind: Chicago Blackhawks Remember When? Phoenix Coyotes Most people remember Jeremy Roenick (don’t worry, I’ll get to him) leaving the Blackhawks for the desert, but …
