I love Subway Restaurants. The place may as well be my father. I eat there all the time. Place is great. Veggies. Meat. Sauces. Parmesan cheese for free. Such a great way to eat healthy. Or completely unhealthy if you choose. Either way, Subway is my go to establishment for a food fix. Anyone remember these commercials used to promote Subway’s healthy offerings? And then there’s this doozy from the late 70’s: I love Subway
This was a fashion fad that was apparently big in the 70s…I don’t know, I wasn’t there. However, I was there in the 90s when these things had a huge comeback! I can’t remember what all the colours meant; I think blue was happy, green was calm and red was love? I don’t know. What I do know is that the mood ring was responsible for the death of Macaulay Culkin in My Girl. So you better figure out what colour represents “sorry for murdering Vada’s best friend with a swarm of bees!” Can I suggest that colour being purple?

I don’t know about you but I could really go for a burger right now, you in? Okay cool, but first I gotta write this post. DISNEY AFTERNOON! What a juggernaut in the world of cartoons! Every afternoon at 3pm (or maybe 4pm?) growing up Disney would throw on 2 hours of cartoon gold that would rival even some of the best Saturday morning line ups. Starting in 1990 with an unstoppable line up of (get this) Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Duck Tales, Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers and TaleSpin. Are you kidding me! Has there ever been a better block of cartoons in history? Well maybe the 1991/92 line up of Duck Tales, Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin and Darkwing Duck. Over the years other classic shows such as Goof Troop and Gargoyles would join the line up as well as the funny yet forgotten Bonkers before Disney started spinoff successful movies into less impressive shows such as Aladdin, The Lion King’s Timon and Pumba and The Mighty Ducks. For the longest time, my mom never allowed us boys to own a video game console. So to get our fix we would go to a buddy’s house for hours on end. When my oldest brother was at the age he could do whatever he wanted with his money, he brought home a 3DO. To us it was the greatest, most advanced system on the market. A few months later it was known as the biggest flop in video game history. But nonetheless, I loved my 3DO. We only owned a handful of games (which wasn’t far off of the entire 3DO Disc catalog) and the majority of those games were by AMERICAN LASER GAMES. My favorite was Mad Dog McCree. It was a live-action shoot em’ up game in which real actors would perform a scene. If you shoot them in time they fall, if not they laugh at you.
